Site Tutorial
This site is divided into 3 main areas. The main page, the forum, and the blog.
The main page looks like this:
Notice it is divided into 3 panes.
The left pane contains handy navigation links. The first heading, "Site Navigation" contains links to resources on this site. The second heading, "External Links" will take you to other useful sites on the internet. The last heading, "Sponsors" contains links to external web pages of paid sponsors.
The center pane contains previews of recent blog posts and forum posts. Links contained in these previews will take you directly to the post. If you want to go to the main forum or blog page, rather than a specific post, you should use the links in the left pane under "Site Navigation".
The right pane contains syndicated headline feeds, currently from the Buffalo News and the Jamestown Post Journal. The headlines update each time the page is reloaded. Clicking on these links will open a new browser window or tab and take you to the newspaper's web site to read the article.
The forum page looks like this:
Navigation in the forum is very intuitive. However, you are required to register before viewing or posting to most of the forum.
In about the middle of the page you will see clickable links to login or register. Please register using your real name in the format lastname.firstname (separated by a ".")
The forum is intended to facilitate communication between and among members of the bar and others employed in connection with the courts, as well as members of the public.
The forum is divided into 2 main sections, public and private. Both sections require registration, but the private section is limited to attorneys and those employed in connection with the courts. Posts in the private section cannot be read by the general public. Posts in the public section can be read by all registered members.
The forum software supports special "Group" areas allowing access to certain areas to be restricted to particular groups. Currently there are two groups - attorneys and law-guardians.
The blog looks like this:

The blog is to be used for information or news pertinent to legal or bar issues.
The blog is world readable. However, you must have permission to post on the blog. Permission will be given upon request to anyone who may have pertinent news or information to post from time to time.
You may request permission while signing up for an email account (see below). Please note that you will be required to create an account at blogger.com to be able to post.
Finally, to sign up for an email account (you@chautauquabar.org) or to request blog posting privileges click here. The form is self-explanatory. If you have any questions, please contact me through the forum. My username is connolly.sean.
